Alien est un film futuriste à suspense, auquel l'espace interstellaire sert de toile de fond.
Le remorqueur Nostromo - long de 250 mètres - retourne vers la Terre en remorquant une plateforme de raffinage de minerais - 20 000 000 de tonnes - longue de 3 kilomètres sur deux de large. Et, même à la vitesse de la lumière, le port est encore à plusieurs mois de voyage. L'équipage - cinq hommes, deux femmes et un matou - est sagement allongé dans les chambres d'hyper-sommeil. Mais une étrange émission - apparemment d'origine non-humaine - est captée par l'ordinateur de bord, qui modifie alors la trajectoire du Nostromo et réveille l'équipage plus tôt que prévu. Ils ne sont pas explorateurs mais simples voyageurs de l'espace; leur travail est essentiellement l'exploitation des ressources de l'univers. Néanmoins, leur réglement stipule que tout indice d'une éventuelle intelligence doit être soigneusement examiné. Le signal est suivi jusqu'à un petit planétoïde.
L'atterrissage du Nostromo, bien que terrifiant, a lieu correctement et une équipe de trois éclaireurs posent le pied sur une surface désolée et battue par les intempéries pour découvrir une immense épave. Ils y pénètrent et trouvent, dans une salle, le squelette - de toute évidence non-humain - du pilote de l'épave, ainsi que l'origine du signal. Quelques minutes plus tard, ils font une nouvelle découverte et l'horreur commence.
Les éclaireurs ignorent une chose: le pilote de l'espace extra-terrestre est une victime, et le signal n'est pas un appel de détresse mais un avertissement. Bientôt, l'équipage va devoir livrer un combat sans merci contre une forme de vie supérieure et perfide.
Depuis la sortie du film et ses séquelles, on trouve un assortiment - plus ou moins de qualité - de figurines et kits dont la plupart en résine et vinyle à des échelles différentes...

But a strange emission - apparently of non-human origin - is picked up by the onboard computer, which then alters the Nostromo's trajectory and wakes the crew up earlier than expected. They are not explorers but simple space travelers; their job is essentially to exploit the resources of the universe. Nevertheless, their regulations stipulate that any hint of intelligence must be carefully examined. The signal is followed to a small planetoid.

The Nostromo's landing, though terrifying, goes well, and a team of three scouts set foot on a desolate, weather-beaten surface to discover a huge wreck. They enter and find the skeleton - obviously non-human - of the wreck's pilot in a room, along with the origin of the signal. Minutes later, they make another discovery and the horror begins.
One thing the scouts don't know: the alien space pilot is a victim, and the signal is not a distress call but a warning. Soon, the crew is facing a merciless battle against a superior and treacherous life form.
